WHY GRACE?
CONFESSION
ALL: Merciful God, too often we listen only to reply, rather than to understand. We hear words, but miss wounds. We notice differences, but ignore dignity. We are quick to judge, slow to attend, and reluctant to be changed by what we hear.
Forgive us. Teach us to listen as Christ listened; with patience, mercy and love. Restore us by your grace that we may hear your voice in scripture, in neighbor, stranger, and friend. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
